Directions for Use

1. Prepare suction system, machine, sterile gloves, and mask.
2. Check integrity of catheter, tubes, and negative pressure valve.
3. Evaluate patient consciousness and respiratory status.
4. Ensure patient can tolerate suctioning; provide sedation if needed.
5. Connect closed suction catheter securely to the suction machine.
6. Ensure the valve is closed to prevent air leaks.
7. Maintain a sterile field with gloves and mask.
8. Insert catheter into airway (approx. 25-30cm) until resistance is felt, then withdraw 1-2cm.
9. Press suction valve while withdrawing catheter in a spiral motion (max 15 seconds).

Contraindications

Patients with serious breathing difficulties or acute respiratory tract injury are prohibited from using this system.
